Cell Specialization Assignment: On your chromebook, find a picture of a red blood cell, nerve cell, guard cells, muscle cell, diatom, euglena. Cut and paste into a document and type the function of each cell next to it. Answer the following questions. Email it to me.
1. Are all the cells the same shape?
2. Do all the cells have all the exact same parts?
3. Does a sickle cell work just as well as a normal red blood cell? why not?
4. Why do you think the nerve cell has long extensions on it?
5. Muscle cells move, why do you think they have more mitochondria in them?
6. Why must a single celled organism's cells be able to do all life's processes perfectly?
7. A Euglena has an eyespot. They can do both photosynthesis and eat food. What do you think the eyespot senses for the euglena?
